Miracle Open Meeting - 19th June 2010

Race 1: 6 9 3 4 1 Race 2: 6 9 3 1 0 Race 3 : 6 9 3 1 0
The
day
dawned
dry
but
windy
–
which
didn’t
please
everyone.
A
force
four
gusting
six
down
the
lake
meant
that
two
of
the
visitors
didn’t
sail
-
we
decided
to
try
out
our
shortened
mainsail,
at
least
for
the
first
race,
to
ensure
stress
free
sailing.
The
races
all
followed
a
similar
pattern
with
Wayne
and
Mark
showing
how
it
should
be
done
at
the
front
enjoying
a
“fantastic
blast
down
the
lake,
can’t
beat
it”
–
as
Wayne
said
later.
Scott
and
Graham,
sailing
in
their
first
Miracle
open,
came
a
comfortable
second
in
each
race.
We
came
third
in
the
first
race
as
Jack
and
Gregg
were
slightly
‘misled’
by
the
course
instructions,
but
then
beat
us
as
they
flew
their
spinnaker
at
every
opportunity
–
unlike
us
who
only
did
when
I
felt
brave!
In
spite
of
the
strong,
gusty
winds
there
were
no
capsizes.
See you (and hopefully some more) next year......
